- Highbury is light-filled and spacious, and the owners have ensured that guests have plenty of room to relax and socialise together as well as an upstairs 'den' for those who want some peace and privacy. The large sitting/dining room has a bay window at one end and french doors at the other, leading out onto the exterior courtyard. There are two sofas and two tub chairs, centred round the fireplace (with electric feature fire), and the tv is wall-mounted for easy viewing. The dining table, which seats 6, is situated by the bay window, with views over the valley. Across the wide hallway is the large kitchen, fully fitted with a electric double oven, separate electric hob and extractor, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is a small table and chairs, ideal for mid-morning coffee or an early supper for younger children.

There are two ground floor bedrooms; the master bedroom has a kingsize bed, plenty of storage (a wardrobe and chest of drawers) and french doors out onto the rear courtyard. The good-sized twin bedroom next door has two 3 ft single beds, a chest of drawers and a free standing clothes rail. The house has a shower room on the ground floor, with a wc, basin, heated towel rail and a large walk-in shower enclosure.

Upstairs, Highbury has a third double bedroom with a kingsize bed and chest of drawers, and an extra room furnished as a 'den' with a sofa, armchair and tv, which can be used as an extra sitting room, play room, or just somewhere quiet to read. There is a second bathroom on this floor, with wc, basin and bath with a shower off the taps.

The house (built just 4 years ago) has parking for 3 cars, and guests are welcome to store bikes, kayaks, fishing rods, etc. in the garage. Steps rise from the parking area up to two terraces in front of the house. A path runs down the side of the house to the rear courtyard which has garden chairs and a table. The village centre and harbour is approx a 5 minute walk from the house, half of which is gently sloping, the other half on the level.

Sept 2020 - Hi Helen, we just wanted to let you know that we've had a wonderful time, and the accommodation was perfect. Highbury was spotlessly clean, and the measures you have put in place made us feel very reassured. We took your advice and pre-booked for Heligan and Eden, and we had a great holiday despite all the uncertainty this year. - thanks again!

Aug 2020 - We had to change the dates of our holiday this year due to the lockdown, but it only needed a call to Helen to do this, so we still got our holiday. Highbury was spotlessly clean, and in a great location as we could walk to the harbour but also had plenty of parking as we brought two cars. It was great to sit in the sun with a book and a glass of wine – really relaxing after a stressful few months. We hope to return soon x

Sept 2019 - Our second visit and everything just as perfect as the first time! Thank you.

Aug 2019 - Thank you for a lovely and comfortable stay at Highbury. It has been some years since we have been down to this part of Cornwall and be leaving with fond memories. The weather was lovely all week, which was a bonus. We will return soon.

May 2019 - Wonderful holiday cottage, comfortable, warm, spotlessly clean and a few minutes walk from all the action !! What more could you ask for ? Thank you.

April 2019 - Not our first time in Mevagissey, so we knew we would love it. Highbury was a lovely house and really suited our family - all 6 of us. Great facilities and lovely and clean, thanks.

April 2018 - We have just returned from Highbury in Mevagissey. We booked through this company and always received a quick response to any enquiry I made. Nothing was too much trouble, so thank you Helen. Would recommend booking with this company and definitely recommend Highbury in Mevagissey
